Lewis Capaldi made fun of Ed Sheeran for surpassing him with the most streamed song of all time in the United Kingdom - telling him to "Keep Up!"
With his 2018 single "Someone You Loved," the 26-year-old artist has displaced Ed's 2017 single "Shape Of You" from the number one spot.
According to the Official Charts Company, Lewis' song has been heard 562 million times on audio and video.
Meanwhile, per the BBC, the Scottish singer-songwriter stated, "Listen... The Beatles, Drake, Metallica, The Eagles, and Michael Jackson, please don't be offended, but I had to pick this one. Now, please take a step back and allow Daddy to steer the ship.
On beating the Suffolk-native, he added that "Ed's a man who is like a brother to me, he's been a mentor, he's put his arm round me and said, "Don't worry everything's going to be ok."
"He's been nothing but kind and gracious and beautiful, a good friend in an ever-changing industry. So to Ed I say... nice guys finish last. You snooze you lose, kiddo. Keep up!"
Did he mock him? Of course not - they're good bros.
Lewis posted an Instagram photo with his trophy and an inflatable crown on Monday. In his caption, he wrote: "just heard that 'someone you loved' is officially the MOST STREAMED SONG of ALL TIME in the UK!! 'Will never cease to amaze me, thanks so much team!!! ️ x."
Lewis appeared enamored as he entered a London hotel with model and actress Ellie MacDowell at 4:30 a.m. on Thursday, following a lovely dinner.
As the pair departed Chiltern Firehouse, the celebrity dressed casually in a white T-shirt paired with a black jacket and matching pants. Ellie donned a brown coat, paired it with brown pants and brown boots, and the two arrived at the hotel reception shortly thereafter.
It follows Lewis's disclosure that his anti-anxiety medicine decreases his libido and makes it difficult for him to orgasm. He spoke openly about the adverse affects of the antidepressants and how they have given him difficulties in the bedroom. The number one artist addresses his anxiety using Sertraline, a medicine that tackles a variety of illnesses, including anxiety, depression, OCD, and post-traumatic stress disorder.
On Saturday night, after performing in Birmingham, Lewis Capaldi stopped by an Indian restaurant for dinner and graciously posed for photos with some young fans. After performing at Free Radio Hits Live, the Scottish singer went to the Aroma Restaurant in Solihull. The diners were stunned when the pop icon entered the restaurant. And it wasn't long before he was surrounded by fans eager to take a photo with the West Lothian singer of "Somebody You Loved."
