Viola Davis is one award away from achieving the coveted status that many have aspired to in the entertainment industry.

The "How To Get Away With Murder Actress" has been one of the many talking points online as she has surprised many after being nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Audio Book, Narration & Storytelling Recording.

For non-singers, the said category might be the best way to earn the coveted award from The Recording Academy.

However, Davis, who has been a well-loved artist by both critics and the public, might have to go through a rather difficult way to earn that Grammy.

Her memoir, "Finding Me," is up in the running to win the category - but it has to beat out other frontrunners like Lin Manuel Miranda (a GRAMMY favorite) for his "Aristotle and Dante Dive Into the Waters of the World," Jamie Foxx for "Act Like You Got Some Sense," Questlove's "Music Is History," and "All About Me!: My Remarkable Life in Show Business by Mel Brooks." If Davis could win the award, she would now be the next person, after Jennifer Hudson, to have won all four entertainment awards - Emmy, Grammy, Oscars, Tony - or colloquially, EGOT.

Davis joins the likes of Francis McDormand, Jeremy Irons, Helen Mirren, and Al Pacino as artists who are all short for a Grammy Award to achieve EGOT status.

Notably, Viola Davis won her Emmy Award for her portrayal of the alcoholic defense lawyer Annalise Keating in "How To Get Away With Murder," sealing her Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series in 2012.

As for her Oscar Award, she won her Best Supporting Actress award for "Fences," the film whose play it was originated in 2010, also scored her a Tony for Best Leading Actress in a Play.

If Davis managed to snag the Grammy on February 2023, she would be the third Black woman who has achieved all four awards - trailing behind Jennifer Hudson and Whoopi Goldberg.

Fans were visibly thrilled with Davis receiving the nomination:

"There's this particular sense of strength, grace and wisdom, A Leo woman has. She could act like a man but also be a good seducer as a woman, I'm sensing this is as a result of the innate passion in her. Her power and strength comes from passion- sort of births determination," a fan posted.
