Saweetie is taking her sweet time with the music-making process. Although she is yet to release her highly anticipated album "Pretty Bitch Music," she decided to treat fans with a new single, "Don't Say Nothin'."
"Don't Say Nothin'" comes from her current new project "The Single Life," and the rapper had been pretty excited to unveil her newest body of work with fans.
"I'm excited to share what I went through. I think as I was making it, I was more proud to be single. Because I realised that I was growing, I realised that I was elevating. And I realised that I was becoming a better woman. It was definitely revolutionary. It was heartbreaking. It was honest. It was a reflection. It's just me being Saweetie in full transparency," she said earlier this month.
"Pretty Bitch Music," however, will take a little while longer, but fans can now enjoy "The Single Life" while they wait for the rapper's debut album to drop.
Saweetie raps about the drama and rumors surrounding her dating history and life on "Don't Say Nothin'": That's what I get for kissin' on these frogs/ He got mad and told my business to the blogs/ N***a pause, I'm appalled, need to chill out."
In an interview with Zane Lowe, she revealed more details about her newly released single, specifically about how she was betrayed by a man whom she thought she could trust, but went behind her back by telling everyone else.
"It was a lot of storytelling and I just put all my experiences into one song. I feel like that sound is the reason why I'm here, and I never want to turn my back on what made me great."
Following her theme of transparency, other songs included in "The Single Life" include "Bo$ Chick," "P.U.S.S.Y. (Powerful, Utopia, Supreme, Sacred, Yummy)," "Handle My Truth," "Memorable," and "No Reception."

Although she did not explicitly say whom the single is about, many speculated that it was about her ex-boyfriend, Quavo.
According to HipHop DX, the rapper had a dramatic break-up with the Migos member in 2021, and the latter alluded to their relationship in his song "Messy."
Perhaps this is one of the reasons why Saweetie decided to push back her debut album, to accommodate new emotions and experiences.
"I feel very urgent. I feel like this is the first time I spent a lot of time with myself, and I recorded for a year straight," she said.
And she also announced that she is coming back to the music scene for good. "It's time for me to share my experiences. I'm at a point now where I'm in the studio, it just feels like magic. I love being in the studio. Studio is like my therapy now. Right now, I'm getting all my outfits. I'm ready to be back outside because I've been in the studio hibernating. The Icy Girl is out of hibernation. I'm ready just to be outside again."
