Many fans have been waiting for U2 to hit the road again as the last time they went on tour was over three years ago. However, drummer, Larry Mullen Jr. confirmed that they're unlikely to perform at shows next year as he would be undergoing surgery.

The band has been dominating the world for decades now, and even though they won't tour, many will still support them by streaming their music.

Many fans are also interested to know their fortune as they have been in the industry for a while now; did you know that the group has over a billion dollars net worth combined? Who's the wealthiest member?

U2 Net Worth: Do They Really Have Billions of Dollars Combined?

According to The Richest, the band is one of the most renowned rock music acts in the world and their members Bono, Adam Clayton, The Edge, and Larry Mullen Jr. has a combined net worth of a whopping $1.8 billion.

U2, which was formed in 1972, also sold billions of dollars worth of ticket sales from 1990 to 2016 for their tour and they surpassed $1 billion in revenue during the 2010s.

In total, their earnings for the year 2018 is $118 million, $37 million in 2019, and $39 million in 2020.

It appears that Bono, whose real name is Paul David Hewson, is the wealthiest member with an estimated net worth of $700 million.

Aside from being a singer, Bono is also known for being a social activist who campaigned on different social issues like the African AIDS crisis.

Due to his charitable works, he was awarded the honorary Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire and had a knighthood honor in Dublin, Ireland.

The next richest members has the same estimated net worth, David Howell Evans, popularly known as The Edge with $400 million and Dam Charles Clayton. Both were followed by Larry Mullen with $300 million.

U2 Not Going on Tour in 2023?

Unfortunately, Mullen confirmed earlier this week that it's unlikely for U2 to get back together for a tour, but if ever they would pursue it, he will not be present as he's going to have surgery.

As of this writing, the drummer did not give his specific medical condition on why he needed to get surgery.

On the other hand, Digital Music News reported that frontman Bono is thriving in his solo career as he's been performing at a few solo tour dates to promote his published book, "Surrender."
