Morgan Wallen failed to impress everyone despite scoring a spot on the 2022 Spotify Wrapped campaign.

Weeks before 2022 ends, Spotify honored the top artists, songs, and albums on the music streaming platform and honored them by showing them on its list on its 2022 Wrapped. Among the most buzzworthy are Bad Bunny and Taylor Swift.

Spotify's top albums include Bad Bunny's "Un Verano Sin Ti," Harry Styles' "Harry's House," Olivia Rodrigo's "SOUR," Taylor Swift's "Midnights," and Wallen's "Dangerous: The Double Album."

After seeing the country singer's name and album on the list, internet users and Spotify subscribers immediately expressed their dismay and said he should not be on the list at all.

What Happened to Morgan Wallen?

The public's rage is rooted in the 2021 infamous video of the singer using a racial slur.

At that time, he was returning home with his friends when he walked to his driveway while referring to one of his pals using the N-word. Following the backlash, he appeared in an interview with Michael Strahan on ABC's "Good Morning America," where he explained that he did not use the N-word to degrade his friend.

Still, he apologized and admitted he was wrong.

The singer also released a video message explaining he was on a 72-hour bender when he accidentally used the N-word. Unfortunately, it reportedly took him some time to realize that he misused the term.

His action caused radio stations and streaming websites to block him from their playlist.

The 2021 American Music Awards and the Academy of Country Music Awards also decided to cancel his involvement and eligibility after the incident.

Meanwhile, he also lost his chance to win at the CMA Awards' Album of the Year award category. He was up against Eric Church, Brothers Osbourne, Carly Pearce, and Chris Stapleton, and the latter ultimately won the recognition.

Instead of feeling sour about it, he thanked his fans for their heartfelt support regardless of what happened.

"I wake up every morning and thank the Lord for my blessings. Tomorrow morning will be no different. I love y'all," he wrote on Twitter.

Amid the losses, he still savored victory when his "Dangerous: The Double Album" sold 3 million copies. MRC Data said it surpassed the other hit albums last year, including Drake's "Certified Lover Boy" and Olivia Rodrigo's "Sour."
