Steven Tyler and Aerosmith received mixed reactions after canceling the remainder of their Las Vegas residency.

After the initial cancelation of a Las Vegas show earlier this month, Aerosmith announced that it would postpone the remaining dates because of its frontman's health issues. The band revealed the news on its social media accounts, but it did not disclose what illness Tyler has been dealing with.

"To all our fans... We are so sorry to announce we are cancelling these last two Las Vegas Shows. On the advice of doctors, Steven has to sit these out. Stay healthy and we'll see you in the new year!" it said.

The remaining two Las Vegas concerts were scheduled on December 8 and 11.

The recent deferment came days after Aerosmith had another last-minute cancelation because Tyler was reportedly too sick to perform. The band assured that refunds would be automatically made by Ticketmaster.com while others would be offered at the point of purchase.

Following the cancelation, Tyler and Aerosmith received messages from fans - some wishing the singer well and others expressing their dismay.

Steven Tyler's Health Issue, Drug Battle

Tyler's fans mainly blame his drug use and relapse for the recent mishaps.

For what it's worth, Aerosmith also canceled the earlier dates of its Las Vegas residency as the singer reportedly suffered a relapse after undergoing foot surgery. Tyler reportedly fell into it again while using drugs to manage his pain after the procedure.

The band's time off the stage allowed him to be away from the spotlight and stay inside a rehabilitation facility. While he was initially asked to stay for 30 days, Tyler decided to stay longer to ensure his full recovery before his discharge.

Tyler has been open about his substance abuse issues in the past years. In 1988, he also received an intervention arranged by his Aerosmith bandmates in pursuit of helping him with his addiction.

In 2006, Aerosmith canceled its tour due to Tyler's scheduled throat surgery. At that time, rumors that the singer had throat cancer emerged. The band's publicist, on the other hand, dismissed the claims and said that the buzz was untrue.

He was eventually diagnosed with a ruptured blood vessel in his throat. Massachusetts General Hospital Center for Laryngeal Surgery and Voice Rehabilitation director, Dr. Steven M. Zeitels, sealed it off and helped him in his recovery journey.

During the same year, he revealed that he had been suffering from hepatitis C for the past 11 years, although he was only diagnosed with it in 2003.
