Lizzo has another song on top of the charts, but this time it's a cover. Her take on Stevie Wonder's "Someday at Christmas" debuted at No. 9 on the Hot R&B Songs Chart.

According to Billboard, Lizzo's newest release joins her other chart-topping songs like "Good as Hell," which sat comfortably at No. 1 for 10 weeks and "About Damn Time," which reached number one on Billboard Hot 100.

Unlike her other chart-topping songs, the singer's cover of Wonder's 1966 Christmas classic is featured exclusively on Amazon Music.

Despite being available on only one music streaming platform, Amazon Music noted that its airplay registered 312,000 in audience listenership.

A Friendly Reminder

Lizzo announced that she will be covering "Someday at Christmas" last month, and released it on Nov. 11.

The "About Damn Time" singer shared a clip of herself singing "Someday at Christmas" on Instagram last Nov. 12.

She also noted the importance and relevance of the song over 60 years after its original release, "I chose to cover 'Someday at Christmas' not just because it's a classic, but because it's a reminder to us that almost 60 years later we are still fighting for peace, compassion, and equality. A friendly reminder to spread love and kindness this holiday season," she added.

According to Vibe, Wonder released the song along with his album of the same name in November 1967, and since then, the song has been covered by several other artists like The Jackson 5, Diana Ross, Jack Johnson, Justin Bieber, and now Lizzo.

Aside from topping the charts with her version of the Christmas classic, Lizzo's version of the song was also included in Billboard's list of best new Christmas songs for 2022.

"Someday at Christmas" by Lizzo ranked first, with Camila Cabello's "I'll be Home for Chrismas" at second, followed by "A Very Backstreet Christmas" by Backstreet Boys, Chord Overstreet's "Everybody Loves Christmas," and Kane Brown's "Blue Christmas" in fifth place.

Lizzo releasing the Christmas classic on Amazon Music is no surprise, after all, it comes after her partnership with Amazon Prime Video to release her reality competition show, "Watch Out for the Big Grrrls."

The reality competition show premiered back in March, and has received critical acclaim. Perhaps Lizzo's partnership with Jeff Bezos proves to be quite lucky for her because all her Amazon releases have worked out and have been commercial and critical successes.

Looks like Lizzo is going to have a merry Christmas this year thanks to her massive success this year alone.
