This exciting news comes after it was reported that the man accused of orchestrating the murder of Young Dolph pleaded not guilty on Thursday, a year after the rapper and record label owner was ambushed and killed while purchasing cookies at a bakery in his hometown of Memphis, Tennessee.

Hernandez Govan, 43, appeared briefly in Memphis's Shelby County Criminal Court. He was detained the week before last after being charged with first-degree murder and conspiracy to conduct first-degree murder in the death of the 36-year-old rapper.

The judge ordered the next hearing for Govan for December 16. Govan is the third suspect in the slaying of Young Dolph, whose actual name was Adolph Thornton Jr., on November 17, 2021. The murder in broad daylight horrified Memphis and the entertainment industry.

Two guys reportedly exited a white Mercedes-Benz and fired shots inside Makeda's Homemade Cookies in the Castalia neighborhood, near the rapper's childhood home. Police issued photographs acquired from security footage that caught the incident, and authorities later discovered the abandoned vehicle.
