Aaron Carter reportedly did something very heartbreaking just before his tragic death.
On "Behind the Velvet Rope with David Yontef," O-Town singer Erik-Michael Estrada disclosed that the former child star "distanced himself from everyone" before being found dead in his bathtub on November 5, 2022, at the age of 34.
In the interview, Estrada discussed his friendship with Carter and said that, in his opinion, the "I'm All About You" singer had already "gone" before he had really passed away.
The 43-year-old added on the show on Wednesday, "The terrible aspect about Aaron is that he had been missing for a while, right? He wasn't, despite the fact that he was still present.
He had cut himself off from everyone, and he was quite apparent that he didn't want to interact with many of the individuals who genuinely cared for him, Estrada said.
The two friends developed throughout the boy band period and, at one time, were even under the same management. The "All of Nothing" singer claimed that over time, he and the father of one became even closer.
But he was aware, much like others close to Carter, that the late singer struggled with his own demons and problems.
Estrada said, "Maybe some trauma, and clearly some mental disease."
Additionally, he mentioned that you could have times when you feel extremely cut off from someone, and that would've been really felt if you knew the "Summertime" crooner.
Erik-Michael Estrada also discussed his attempts to communicate with Aaron Carter during a particularly tough period in the latter's life.
He remembered complimenting Carter and noting that people valued the singer more for his skill than for the tweets he had been posting.
"I could simply sense the distance in his eyes," Estrada remarked. I wasn't really speaking to the same man I had been the week before, when we had been at a few gigs together.
Estrada apparently felt despondent when his connection with Hilary Duff's ex-boyfriend experienced a wave of separation.
Nevertheless, he felt privileged to be performing with Angel Carter, Aaron Carter's twin sister, and Nick Carter, Aaron Carter's elder brother, at the "Songs for Tomorrow" charity performance.
On Our Sleeves will get the concert's proceeds. This organization offers free materials to assist communities in eradicating stigma associated with child mental health and promoting children's mental well-being.
As of this writing, Aaron Carter's official cause of death has not been established. Nevertheless, a number of compressed cans and empty pill bottles containing prescription medication were located around his body.
