Bob Dylan may be friendly to his fans and touring bandmates, but there are times when he needed to be left alone. A former touring guitarist revealed that the music legend uses a specific signal whenever he wanted to be by himself.

According to Ultimate Classic Rock, Billy Burnette previously toured with the singer in 2003 across Australia and New Zealand.

Speaking to Rolling Stone, the musician recalled his time with the icon, saying "it was a big thrill."

"I remember at the first day of rehearsal, Dylan picks up his acoustic guitar. He goes, 'This is my thing.' I go, 'You're right about that,'" he said.

Bob Dylan Uses a Specific Signal If He Wanted to be Alone

Elsewhere in the interview, Burnette revealed a specific signal when Bob Dylan wanted to be by himself and no one should be supposed to talk to him.

The guitarist said when the singer wears his hood, he didn't want to be approached. He only found out about it when they were in line at the airport to get to a plane.

At the time, he tapped him on the shoulder, but the drummer warned him immediately, saying "No,no, He don't talk to anyone when he's got the hood on."

Burnette was relieved that his bandmate told him about the hidden signal.

Later in the interview, the musician also noted how "slippery" Dylan is in public because despite being one of the most notable singers of all time, his team could lose him.

There was an incident where his team lost him in an airport and they couldn't find him anywhere. The musician then went to a little gift shop then when he turned around, Dylan was there saying hi to him.
