Kelsey Parker posted to Instagram on Friday to film her heartbreaking reunion with her late husband Tom's parents Noreen and Nigel, after confessing that she is "dreading" her first Christmas without the singer.
After a year-and-a-half-long struggle with stage four glioblastoma brain cancer, the Wanted star passed away in March of this year, at the age of 33. Kelsey, 32, tweeted photographs following a trip to Tom's birthplace of Bolton, when the family attended a local pantomime.
In the photographs, her three-year-old daughter Aurelia and her two-year-old son Bodhi were snuggling up with their grandparents alongside other youngsters from the family. Kelsey captioned the photos by a statement claiming they do not always get to spend as much time with Tom's family as they would want.
Then she said it is crucial to keep their family close and to rejoice together, even though Tom's absence will always be sad. She then shared that the children and them have traveled north earlier this week to attend a pantomime with Tom's parents.
It was extremely special for the children to create happy memories with their grandparents, she added.
Kelsey confessed on Friday that she has been dreading Christmas this year, as it will be her first without her late spouse. She described the burden of loss for herself and their two children in a final post. She added that the difficulty of the day was increased by the funeral of her grandfather scheduled for tomorrow.
Kelsey Parker, who shares two children with her late husband, has been extremely candid about her sadness since Tom's death.
Kelsey posted a throwback photo of herself with her husband kissing her on the cheek in front of a Christmas tree with their two-year-old daughter Aurelia and one-year-old son Bodhi.
She mentioned in the caption that she was battling with "small things" over the holiday season.
This is why she also asked for some love on that day, saying it's going to be particularly difficult.
She went on to say that she was "taken off guard" by a flood of anguish after wrapping gifts for her children and realizing that she would be the only one giving them this year.
Kelsey said she was wrapping these presents when a wave of grief hit her - not because Tom would have been beside her wrapping gifts, but the realization that these gifts from now on would only be signed with "Love, Mummy."
