New details about Gangsta Boo and her death emerged after the rapper's family members broke their silence over her sudden passing.

Buzz has been surrounding Gangsta Boo's cause of death after she was found dead in Memphis. Following the tragic event, her loved ones shared further details as they dismissed the claims about foul play being involved.

In a newly-aired interview from WREG Memphis with Gangsta Boo's bereaved family and friends, it was confirmed that the rapper's death was unexpected as she had so many plans in her career this year.

Her friend, Delmar Lawrence, noted that the Memphis rapper was depressed before her passing.

"She loved what she wanted to do, she had so many plans, so many dreams about what she wanted to do for 2023," he said. "I mean she told me about 'em 3 days ago."

Gangsta Boo reportedly suffered a big blow when she lost her father. Lawrence said that her friend was a daddy's girl and that she was with her on the nights she suffered grief.

The rapper's mother, Veronica Mitchell, released a statement as she requested privacy for her and her family. Meanwhile, Gangsta Boo's publicist, Echo Hattix of EchoingSoundz, called her "a pioneer of female rap."

Gangsta Boo's Cause of Death Drug-Related?

Fox 13 reported Gangsta Boo's death, quoting the statement the Three 6 Mafia member's representative sent to WREG 3 Memphis.

The rising rapper was found dead on Sunday afternoon. No initial cause of death was reported, but a news outlet received tips from sources connected to her regarding the potential drug-related incident.

According to its insiders, Gangsta Boo was with her brother on the night before her death. She attended a local concert in Memphis but got overdosed a few hours later. Both the rapper and her sibling were hospitalized following the incident, but only her brother managed to recover.

Other eyewitnesses claimed that the authorities found narcotics, with a fentanyl-laced substance is believed to be the cause of her death. Police are reportedly investigating her death.

These should be taken with a grain of salt as none of the information has been confirmed by the authorities or Gangsta Boo's family.

She began rapping as a teenager before officially becoming the second female rapper to join Three 6 Mafia. She started her career when she appeared in its debut studio album, "Mystic Stylez."

Meanwhile, she marked her solo career with "Enquiring Minds" in 1998. The single hit the No. 46 spot on the Billboard 200.
