Thursday night in Los Angeles, a suspect was arrested following reports of a burglary at the childhood home of singer Billie Eilish.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers responded to a report of a man in dark clothing jumping over a fence in the Highland Park area. The suspect reportedly wore an all-black ensemble along with a black mask. In footage broadcast on local television, officers were seen searching the residence for evidence.
DailyMail.com has reached out for comment to the singer's representative.
In relation to the crime, the home address of pop superstar Billie Eilish in Highland Park, California was reportedly leaked to thousands of individuals via a push notification from the app Citizen, which allows users to monitor crime and breaking news events in real time. At 9:15 p.m. PST last night, an incident was reported in Highland Park, California, and a push notification was sent out via the Citizen app after police received a 911 call about a residential burglary.
According to a report by KTLA, the call came from the housekeeper, who was not at home but received a notification from a device that displayed the suspect on camera. The suspect was reportedly involved in a fight with law enforcement before he was apprehended fifteen minutes later.
Police soon revealed that the residence belonged to Billie Eilish, a pop singer and songwriter. According to Vice, the push notification included the exact address and was sent to over 178,000 people, with nearly 78,000 users actively viewing the notification.

However, at 7:24 a.m. PST on Friday, the Citizen app changed the address of the incident, removing the actual address and only noting the cross streets: "The address reported for this incident has changed to Meridian St & N Avenue 57."
Citizen's ability to reveal home addresses on its platform raises some red flags, especially in the case of a well-known celebrity like Eilish. Sandra Bullock, Mariah Carey, Taylor Swift, and Simon Cowell have all reportedly had their homes broken into, with some of the suspects allegedly being stalkers or carrying weapons. There is something to be said about Citizen actively identifying the address of a popular celebrity and notifying more than 178,000 users of that address. Citizen's privacy policy does mention location data with claims of storing personal data for "as brief a period as possible," but this only applies to app users and not to those involved with crimes reported through the app.
Billie was born in Los Angeles to actress and teacher Maggie Baird and actor Patrick O'Connell, and she and her 25-year-old brother Finneas were raised in the Highland Park region.
In the 2021 Apple TV+ documentary The World's A Little Blurry, Billie and her brother Finneas provided fans with a glimpse into their childhood home.
As a teenager, she was shown recording one of her hit songs with her brother. Billie stated that they have recorded this album in the bedroom where they grew up, so anything is possible.
In December 2019, Billie and Finneas also opened their childhood home for a segment on CBS Sunday Morning. The then-teenager demonstrated to host Gayle King how she and Finneas improvise and compose music in their home studio, where they have recorded some of her most popular songs.
Billie became the youngest person to win Best New Artist, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Album of the Year at the 62nd Grammy Awards in 2020. She won an Academy Award for Best Original Song for No Time To Die from the same-titled James Bond film last year.
