Kaya Jones reflected on the dark side of being a member of the Pussycat Dolls.
After being in the spotlight as a member of Pussycat Dolls, Jones shared more details about her life during her career with the group and how she now regrets having three abortions in her lifetime.
The singer spoke more about her life story in a video posted on Students for Life's YouTube channel. The clip, titled "Former Pussycat Doll Shares Her Abortion Story," covered Jones' personal and professional lives.
The 38-year-old performer started the video by recalling the statements she made about being a Pussycat Dolls member. She also compared her alleged experiences with the group to Britney Spears' conservatorship.
Jones specifically highlighted when the "Toxic" singer said her conservatorship was like being sex trafficked.
"It feels like you're a slave, literally, to your dream," she said. "You have no access to personal thoughts, space, choices, decision. You are an owned commodity. What you eat has been decided for you, where you live is gonna be decided for you. Ultimately, you can't have a child."
Kaya Jones Shares Abortion Story
She revealed she experienced an epiphany when she saw two little girls in the crowd watching her during the group's performance. At that time, she was reportedly undergoing an abortion. With that, she instantly thought about not having something beautiful about her as she lived in her worst self.
Jones explained how a person could be "sexually overly-perverse" by doing things they are unhappy about. Talking about her abortion, she added that she felt pain beyond measure when she chose to abort her child.
Asking the viewers whether they would get over it, the singer said it would never happen as it is something that would last for the rest of one's life.
She detailed when these abortions happened, starting with the first one when she was 16 or 17. At that time, Jones reportedly felt desensitized due to the weight of the procedure. She said she was told to "get rid of it" when she learned about her pregnancy.
After leaving the group in 2004, the former Pussycat Dolls member became pregnant when she was 30 after someone she trusted sexually assaulted her. She experienced complications due to stress, eventually leading to another abortion.
After going through a lot, Jones shared how she now sees abortion differently and declared how being a mother is the greatest job a woman could ever have.
