Jeremy Renner's sister gave a positive update about his health status amid the rumors surrounding his future in the industry.
Over a week after the snowplow accident in Reno, Nevada, Renner is reportedly making major progress in the hospital as he continues to recuperate after sustaining dreaded injuries and suffering blood loss.
In an interview with People for the magazine's new issue, Renner's sister, Kym Renner, assured the singer-actor's fans that he has been doing well.
"We are so thrilled with his progress," she said. "If anyone knows Jeremy, he is a fighter and doesn't mess around. He is crushing all the progress goals. We couldn't feel more positive about the road ahead."
This resonated with what the "Avengers: Endgame" star showed in his recent updates since the accident. On Jan. 3, he uploaded a photo of him while lying on his hospital bed and thanked everyone for their support.
He then uploaded a video of him showing his sister massaging his head, which he called a "spa moment" to lift his spirits. On Jan. 6, he shared another photo of him while hospital staff surrounded him.
The new update ultimately dismissed a report saying that he would be crippled for life following the injuries he sustained.
Jeremy Renner's Snowplow Accident
Renner remains in the hospital after undergoing two surgeries for his injuries.
The musician was assisting a stranded motorist while clearing the road for his family after the New Year's Eve storm. His publicist, Samantha Mast, told CNN that the incident happened on New Year's day.
Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve said, according to The Reno Gazette Journal, that Renner was helping a neighbor to clear the driveway before the snowplow machine moved over him.
The Washoe County Sheriff's Office released a copy of the 911 call log, made at 8:55 a.m. on Jan. 1, which recorded the caller saying Renner was "completely crushed" by the snowcat vehicle.
He reportedly bled heavily from his head and other injuries, leading to blood loss. The call also disclosed that they did not know where most of the blood was coming from. At that time, he was already suffering from extreme difficulty breathing after his chest collapsed and his upper torso was crushed.
The Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District and REMSA Health arranged Renner's medical transport to a local area hospital.
