Miley Cyrus released her new song "Flowers," and the internet is going absolutely wild over the intelligent nuance of the number.

Miley Cyrus has been making her mark on the entertainment world for years. The talent has taken great care and tact to separate herself and her work from the child star that she once was. While Hannah Montana will always hold a special place in our hearts, Cyrus is a star of her own right. She has built a discography and impressive music career that stands proudly her own. Flowers is just such a song. It captures the power of the star, motivating all who listen to it. In layman's terms: It ROCKS.

The song was released yesterday to a flurry of approval from her adoring fans. However, the song is more than merely an empowering soundtrack to the lives of the masses. The song "Flowers" grew as a response to Bruno Mars's well-loved song "When I Was Your Man." This rev-up, break-up album directly addresses the points Mars brings up in his anthem. Fans' minds are decidedly, and rightfully, blown.

While Miley Cyrus and Bruno Mars never had a romance, Cyrus's song is being tied back to her well-known ex-boyfriend Liam Hemsworth. Hemsworth and Cyrus were officially divorced back in August of 2019, but they had an on-again-off-again relationship that began back in 2009. Not only did this break-up-bop drop on Hemsworth's birthday, but many fans have said that the actor once dedicated the Bruno Mars song to his then girlfriend and wife. While this has not been officially verified, it would explain the sampling of the song in Cyrus's new hit.

Regardless of the motivation behind it, we are so thrilled that Cyrus has come out with this new number. We cannot wait to spend the whole day listening to it on repeat!
