It's 2023 already, but Miley Cyrus and her dad Billy Ray are still not on good terms.
She is involved in a family conflict with the rest of her family, especially her mother, Tish Cyrus, and sadly, it appears to be getting worse.
Fortunately, the former "Hannah Montana" actress has her godmother, country music icon Dolly Parton, to depend on.
The 30-year-old Disney actress and the 76-year-old singer of "Jolene" have grown closer over the past few months. According to sources cited by Radar Online, Dolly has been providing the struggling artist with a lifeline.
Miley is humiliated because of her father's involvement with Firerose, an Australian musician. Even more recently, they were engaged and moved live together in Tennessee.
Her dad's friendship with the young singer, which began months after Tish filed for divorce, has also upset her.
Some individuals worry that Miley is totally lost and alone, a source who talked about Miley said.
But Dolly has encouraged her to support her goddaughter.
"Miley knows she can depend on her for anything, anytime, and that she's there for her no matter what," the insider said.
"Whenever she's pressured or overburdened. Miley is aware that things will improve after speaking with Dolly.
Dolly may connect to the "Party in the USA" singer's admission that she battles sadness and anxiety.
"I simply know that I'm better off when I'm giving," Miley said in June 2022.
The singer-actress apparently found out about her dad and Firerose's relationship and was horrified when he proposed to her. According to Miley Cyrus, this was "step beyond and a genuine kick in the teeth."
"Miley is very protective of her mom [Tish], and the general feeling is that their dad is being a jackass and wasting his life and money on this person," the insider said.
Miley Cyrus' New Song About Liam Hemsworth
On Friday, Miley Cyrus unveiled her heartache anthem.
A single off her next album, "Endless Summer Vacation," is her most recent song, "Flowers."
Miley talks on discovering self-love after experiencing sorrow in the song. Many of her followers believe that this song is about her marriage to and the fallout from her divorce from Liam Hemsworth.
Coincidentally, Liam turned 33 on the day the song was released.
Ten years after they first connected on the set of their film "The Last Song," Miley and Liam called it quits in 2019, little than a year into their union.
