Jose Baez, a famous defense attorney who won an acquittal for Casey Anthony, is now finally onboarded on Tory Lanez's legal camp, who is now working on an appeal.
It is important to note that Baez was not included on the legal team that fought with Megan Thee Stallion's camp last December 2022 on trial. Lanez, formally known as Daystar Peterson, is facing a 22-year sentence after being convicted of felony assault with a semiautomatic handgun, carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle, and discharging a firearm with gross negligence.
In a conversation with TMZ, Baez expressed that he hoped he was onboarded earlier.
"Unfortunately, this is the way that it is, but he's got me now and I'm certainly willing to give him everything I have and hopefully, we'll get the best result possible for him," he told the outlet.
Like Baez, Lanez had things in mind he wished were done during the trial.
"In all of that, there are things that certainly in the trial he wished had gone the other way," Baez continued. "He's trying his best to adjust to everything. In light of the fact that he's never been in this situation before, it's really a tough process to go through."

According to HotNewHipHop, since Baez hasn't represented the Canadian rapper in the court yet, he could not comment on the ongoing case but suggested that there are facets of the case that could really warrant an appeal.
"And I have to tell you, 9 out of 10 times, we get it wrong. So I would say that there's probably a significant chance that there are numerous errors that are within the system and within this case that should be explored, and see if perhaps the results would have been different should it gone the other way," Baez said of the "errors" that could have been committed during the trial.
Baez has also regretted that he was not called earlier during the trial, even suggesting that Lanez couldn't have been facing jail time right now.
The outlet even notes that since Baez hasn't had a convicted client, the area of appeal is particularly new to him, which he sounds confident about threading right now.
