Being a mother to six kids is not a smooth task for Madonna.
The 64-year-old matriarch opened up about her struggles as she tries to understand how to be a mother. She is currently a mom to Lourdes Leon, Rocco Ritchie, David Banda, Ciccone, Mercy James Ciccone, and twins Estere and Stelle Ciccone.
In her interview published in Spanish, Italian, and French issues of Vanity Fair on Wednesday, the "Papa Don't Preach" hitmaker talked about the challenges she has been going through. She also noted how it is not always smooth sailing for her children to deal with her "unconventional approach to parenting."
"Growing up with a mother like me is a challenge," she said. "No one gives you a manual. You have to learn from your mistakes. It is a profession that requires a lot of time. And it is exhausting because there is never rest."
Although she admitted she is not a perfect parent, Madonna talked about feeling the happiest whenever she sees her children discover their own wants and creativities. It is worth noting that her two older kids Lourdes and Rocco, became a musician and painter, respectively.
According to Madonna, she did not urge the two to take their current hobbies but exposed them to art and music. The proud mom then expressed how much respect and admiration she has for her children.
Madonna Embroiled in Child Trafficking Accusation
Amid her inspiring motherhood story, the "Back That Up To The Beat" hitmaker has been accused of child trafficking in Malawi and using them for social experiments.
In 2006, Madonna founded Raising Malawi, an organization that helps the children in the area and gives them health and education programs.
The Ethiopian World Federation claimed that it found an anomaly in Madonna's adoptions: David Bana, Mercy James, Esther, and Stella. It urged President Lazarus Chakwara, to investigate the charity organization due to several worrying issues, including potential sex exploitation, sexual slavery, fraud, and child trafficking, among others.

EWF also cited Madonna's highly-controversial book, "S*x," in which she included photos of softcore pornography taken by photographers Steven Meisel and Fabien Baron.
"We firmly believe that Malawi has been robbed of its most precious resource - its children," the plea says. "In 2013, the country accused Madonna of 'bullying' state officials and making diva demands - and of citing her Raising Malawi charity as the reason for doing so."
It was not the first child trafficking issue she faced. In 2009, Madonna was accused of a similar issue, but the court ruled in favor of her.
