Why David Crosby Hoped His Estranged Band Reconciled Before His Death
According to reports, the rock legend arranged his own funeral years in advance since he was certain he was going to die.
David Crosby hoped that his former bandmates from The Byrds and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young would put the past behind them and attend his burial, according to Radar Online.
David might be rude and arrogant, but these people still mean so lot to him after working together for 50 years, a source stated in 2019.
The insider further stated, "He'd like to reconcile so they would attend his burial. He doesn't want to leave this planet on poor terms with them."
Because of his recent health issues, which were caused by years of substance usage, David Crosby apparently thought his death was imminent.
The vocalist of "Space Man" got hepatitis C, had a couple of heart problems, had eight stents put in his buttocks, and had a liver transplant.
The singer-guitarist declared three years ago, "I'm probably going to die quite soon. I've got a lot wrong with me."
David Crosby Funeral Plans He Created Himself
Meanwhile, David Crosby intends to have the funeral at his horse property in Santa Ynez, California.
The Byrds, his first band, recorded "Turn! Turn! Turn" there.
He also wanted members of the Byrds and CSNY, as well as Joni Mitchell, a former lover and singer, to attend. However, they were dubious at the time, mostly as a result of the quarrel he started.
One instance is in 2014, when David ridiculed Stills and Nash by claiming that their voice powers were deteriorating and criticized Young for leaving his wife for a blonde actress.
But before he passed away, David allegedly made an effort to repair relationships. According to the insider, he personally apologized to each member because he was known as a "a**."
Even though it could be little more than a pipe dream at this time, the insider claimed that David would be quite moved if they came.
He has worked hard for it and still wants to see it through before he passes away.
