Did David Crosby predict his death? Or did he just expect it?
Crosby's representative delivered the heartbreaking news about the Byrds and Crosby, Stills & Nash co-founder's death. It revealed that Crosby died Wednesday, after days of posting cryptic last tweets about heaven.
He started his career in 1964 and continued working on music until his death. But aside from his last tweets, Crosby seemingly "expected" his death months before he died.
The "Music Is Love" singer appeared in one interview in which he opened up about thinking about his death. He said that doing so motivated him to do better in his music career in recent years.
"I've been making records at a startling rate. I've made five albums in six, seven years," he said, according to Ultimate Classic Rock and Culture. "It's an absurd rate to be cranking albums out. The reason being is that I'm gonna die."
The late "The Us Below" crooner added that the awareness about his death helped him keep his focus on making songs. With that worrying thought, he started working hard to share all the music he had before his death.
Crosby talked about his death after announcing his retirement from touring. Although the singer thought he could still make songs despite his old age, he felt like he could no longer be on the road again.
He told the journalism class at Golden High School in Golden, Colorado, that being on a tour bus became a daunting task for him. In addition, the emergence of the COVID-19 virus put him at a higher risk.
