Whitney Houston's death anniversary is coming up soon and her estate has approved a four-day-long event full of festivities, parties, and performances from some of the most talented artists in the music industry, but it appears that not all fans are on board with the idea.

According to Uproxx, the musician's estate has teamed up with Primary Wave and Sony for the event titled "Whitney Houston Hotel" which will be held in the W Hotel in Hollywood, California.

The celebration of the late legend's life will feature music performances by Destiny's Child's Michelle Williams, Teddy Swims, Amber Riley, Coco Jones, Kiana Ledé, Georgia Ku, Natalie Jane, and many more.

The line of events will begin on February 1 with the official unveiling of the hotel along with the opening of a pop-up retail shop that sells the singer's merchandise, the opening of Houston's gallery that is set to feature rare photos and outfits worn by the musician, and more.

For the second day, a reality audio immersive listening lounge will feature the artists, while the third day will have a brunch in honor of the late legend as well as a panel discussion hosted by Kevin Frazier.

To conclude the event, Primary Wave will host its 16th annual pre-Grammy Awards red carpet and party.

Fans Are Not Happy With Whitney Houston Hotel

Even though Whitney Houston Hotel received a go-signal from the singer's estate, many fans appeared to be appalled by the idea of celebrating the musician's death anniversary surrounding the theme of "hotel" amid the Grammys season as these were the two things that are heavily-connected to her passing.

"The way Whitney's estate is managed actually horrifies me. Because nothing says a celebration like a 'Whitney Houston Hotel' during Grammy Week, when you died in a hotel on the eve of the Grammys," one complaint.

"When your star died in a hotel, maybe don't stage a promotional event and call it Whitney Houston Hotel?" another one wrote.

In February 2012, just days before she was found unconscious in a bathtub in her suite at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, she joined Kelly Price for her last performance ever and sang "Jesus Loves Me."

The news of her death coincided with the Grammy Awards that year as the coveted awards show took place the day after.

As of this writing, Whitney Houston's estate has not publicly issued a statement nor reacted to the matter regarding fans' outcry.
