Puerto Rican superstar Bad Bunny is getting the highest GLAAD Media honor at the 34th annual GLAAD Media Awards.
Benito, a known strong ally of the LGBTQIA+ community, will be honored with the GLAAD's Vanguard award.
The GLADD Vanguard Award that Bad Bunny will be receiving has been presented annually by the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation to anyone in the entertainment industry who does not identify as part of the community but has contributed significant difference in promoting the rights of the said marginalized community.
The "Un Verano Sin Ti" hitmaker will be joining an elite league of Vanguard recipients like JAY-Z, Beyonce, Britney Spears, Cher, Liza Minelli, Janet Jackson, and Kacey Musgraves, among many others.
Variety also reports that Christina Aguilera and Jeremy Pope will be awarded GLAAD's Advocate for Change award and Stephen F. Kolzak award, respectively.
"Bad Bunny uses his role as one of the world's most popular music artists to boldly shine a light on LGBTQ people and issues, including transgender equality and ending violence against trans women of color," GLAAD CEO Sarah Kate Ellis said in a statement.

Bad Bunny's song "Yo Perreo Sola," made waves online after the singer performed in drag while significantly echoing his support for women who were constantly challenged, thereby breaking traditional gender norms.
"Yo Perreo Sola's" music video featured Benito performing in women's clothes - praised for its positive representation of gender fluidity and LGBTQ identity.
In a statement to Billboard, "Yo Perreo Sola's" music video Stillz said that Bad Bunny wanted to communicate that men also care about women's rights and violence toward them also affects them too.
"He wanted to make something fun and unique that impacted the world, but he wanted to impact and take a message to the reggaeton community that usually is not as open to speak about the LGBTQ community," he said.
Rolling Stone also described the video to be a damning-but-necessary public service announcement on sexual harassment.
Benito scored his third Grammy Award after winning Best Musica Urbana Album last Sunday, scoring his second consecutive win for the said category. However, he lost to Adele's "Easy on Me," Best Pop Solo Performance for "Moscow Mule," and to Harry Styles' "Harry's House" on Album of the Year for his chart-topping album "Un Verano Sin Ti."
He also sizzled on the opening performance for the 2023 Grammy Awards - which even got Taylor Swift dancing!
