After months of speculations, U2 has finally confirmed that they would be one of the first performers at the new high-tech MSG Sphere venue in Las Vegas, Nevada. However, Larry Mullen Jr. will not be included in the lineup due to his health condition; who would be his replacement?

In between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs' games on Sunday night's Super Bowl, fans were surprised as the legendary Irish band appeared in one of the advertisements where they announced that they will be performing in a series of concerts at the newly-built venue in Sin City. Titled "U2: UV Achtung Baby Live At The Sphere," fans can have early access to official tour dates and ticket details at the official website called U2 X SPHERE.

Their upcoming shows will be the second time the group will perform without Mullen Jr. as he's currently recovering from surgery. The first time he had to sit out from a concert was in 1978 after getting injured in a motorcycle accident.

Adam and The Edge said they don't want to let their supporters down as the upcoming concerts have been in the works for a long time now, so for them to move forward, Bram van den Berg will be replacing the drummer with his support.

The new drummer, who had been a big fan of U2 through the years, is originally a member of the band Krezip. Although he wouldn't perform with his original bandmates on the upcoming tour, they announced that he will not be leaving them permanently.

"U2 hasn't played live since December 2019 and we need to get back on stage and see the faces of our fans again. And what a unique stage they're building for us out there in the desert," they added.

The Los Angeles Times reported that Larry Mullen Jr. has been recuperating from surgery earlier this year. Although U2 didn't give more information about their bandmate's health condition, the Washington Post reported that the musician has been having problems with his neck and elbows.

The band is said to be performing some of their biggest hits from their 1991 album "Achtung Baby," but they will also release a brand new album on March 17, 2023, titled "Songs of Surrender."

The compilation record will feature 40 of the biggest songs of their career from their decades-long music catalog. All tracks were reimagined and rerecorded throughout the past two years.
