Rihanna's Super Bowl performance was the most-talked-about topic in the past few months since her announcement in September 2023.
Since then, fans have been excited about the idea of Rihanna having to stage a huge musical comeback after a hiatus from live performances for almost six years.
Last night, Rihanna performed a medley of her classic hits at the Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Performance.
While Rihanna's Super Bowl Performance gave everyone in the crowd, including Adele, a rush of thrill with her death - some of her longtime fans felt that the performance was "underwhelming" and "boring."
"I'm sorry, but Rihanna's #HalftimeShow was one-note. Perhaps expectations were too high? The lack of outfit changes, special guests, energy... Even the pregnancy reveal could've been more of a moment. The music was EXCEPTIONAL but it all felt underwhelming," Rolling Stone staff Thomas Pier tweeted.
In the first part of the performance, Rihanna revealed that she was pregnant with Baby #2 with his boyfriend A$AP Rocky.

Rihanna performed a slew of her songs from her albums in the past: "B--- Better Have My Money," "Where Have You Been?" "Only Girl in the World," "We Found Love," "Rude Boy," "Work," "Wild Thoughts," "Pour It Up," "All of the Lights," "Run This Town," "Umbrella," "Diamonds."
"Rihanna s halftime show last night was really underwhelming pregnant or not , we've seen pregnant artists give way better than that. And it was so low effort From the outfits to the transitions to the not doing any of the high notes lol, I was so hyped for it I feel let down," another posted.
"Rihanna was boring & underwhelming. A greatest hits would do perfect right now to close the music chapter. Good for her on her babies and makeup tho," someone shared.
"I've been searching for Rihanna's Super Bowl performances because it definitely can't be this latest one y'all are hyping. That was one of the most underwhelming entertaining acts on a stage, but it's Rihanna. Let's all pretend it was lit till we believe it," someone said.
Meanwhile, Aaron Sieber, who worked with the company that mounted the platforms where Rihanna stood during her Super Bowl performance, described to Wired that her show was the "most technically advanced Super Bowl halftime show that's ever been done" because of the amount of technology used to move her.
