Why did Roger Daltrey suddenly leave the stage during his recent Florida concert?

On Saturday, The Who frontman met his fans at the Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater, Florida, for his most recent show. He started playing and singing some of his hit songs, including the famed classic, "Naked Eye."

But before he was able to play it, the singer shocked the concertgoers when he suddenly went quiet and took his guitar off his neck before placing it down.

Videos of the event surfaced online, recording Daltrey as he revealed why he had to pause his performance.

"I'm going to do myself some serious damage here and I'm not going to do it because I'll never sing again," he said hoarsely.

One of the audience members yelled and told him to keep going; others tried to lift his spirits up by clapping. However, the singer yelled back, saying he is not a robot. He also told the crowd he would not do it to himself anymore.

People who were present at the concert said that the 78-year-old crooner was complaining that he could not hear his band. He also told them when he stopped before singing "Getting in Tune" that he had not been feeling well, adding that he suffered from acid reflux.

He let guitarist Simon Townshend continue the performance for "Goin' Mobile." Daltrey returned but it did not take him a long time before stopping again.

Fans Complained After Postponement of Roger Daltrey's Florida Concert

Following the event, some fans expressed their dismay as they were not able to complete the concert. Others also took their time to send the singer well-wishes amid his health issues.

One said, "It was a good show-while it lasted however, Can't believe he said what he did & LEFT THE STAGE! We've been to many shows at this venue & nothing like this has happened before. I hope all works out for Daltrey's future shows. Sad tonight."

"Ya... this S**KED!! Roger walked off the stage!! WTF?? We spend our hard earned money and this is what we get?? NEVER AGAIN WILL I GO TO THE VENUE!!!!" another wrote.

Most of the attendees are also waiting for the refunds. While asking the venue and promoter to give their money back, they also said Daltrey should have just canceled the show in advance.

Daltrey and his representative are yet to address the recent hiccup.
