TikTok trends come and go. Some last weeks and months more than others, while some only last for a certain amount of days or until a huge chunk of their users has exhausted it already.

However, TikTok has become a precursor, especially for pop culture enthusiasts and even musicians, as to how would the online world behave in the next couple of days.

Following Beyonce's huge win at the 2023 Grammy Awards, her name has been all over social media, in TikTok most specifically.

A trend that includes Beyonce has been making rounds on social media.

The audio of the skit was from the 2006 African film "Beyonce: The President's Daughter," which gave Jackie Appiah an Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role.

The film was not actually about Queen B, but her name was just used in the film.

In the skit, Appiah, who played Ciara, shot a gun at Beyonce, played by Nadia Buari. The original caption says, "act like you did in 2020/2021 or kill beyonce," prompting the user to kill "Beyonce" in exchange for doing an embarrassing deed.

The audio has been used over ten thousand times on TikTok, varying from scenarios like admitting one's own pettiness, going back to high school for four years, or even showing affection in front of one's siblings.

Meanwhile, some users find the Beyonce TikTok trend unamusing and quite bothersome.

TikTok user Neika Richard called on users in a stitched video to stop the trend.

"Do some of you not know that not everything is a trend, especially when you live in America where gun violence is one of the leading causes of people's deaths these days," she said. "Beyonce is a real-life person. She is a mother; she is a friend; she's a wife; she's a person. People don't deserve for their lives to be used as some sort of a joke. It's not funny, and you look really stupid. Grow up."

People on Twitter have been echoing the same thing. "i am genuinely scared for Beyoncé because of that stupid ass tiktok trend yk some people are crazy out there... i don't like it a bit," a fan said. "There is this weird and uncomfortable trend going on tiktok where they shoot Beyoncé. I dont feel good watching that," another shared.
