P!nk spoke up about her years-long breaks and how taking them was "not good" for her body.
On Feb. 17, P!nk opened up about her health journey in the past years during an interview with Variety. The singer looked back at her time off amid the COVID-19 pandemic and after her recent medical procedures.
The 43-year-old "Just Give Me a Reason" hitmaker revealed that her breaks were good for her voice. However, she faced a major setback with her body after gaining 36 pounds.
She recalled how all she did during the pandemic was make sourdough and eat it. She also had to be out of the spotlight temporarily after her hip surgery and double disc replacement in her neck.
After going through it all and regaining back the body and energy she once had, P!nk now calls herself a bionic woman.
"I've lost those 36 pounds, and I am stronger than I've ever been in my life. And I'm ready to go, and I'm ready to get the hell out of here. I've been home way too long," the singer went on.
P!nk publicly shared her health struggles since 2020. She revealed on Instagram that she had her very first staph infection and fractured her ankle. The following year, she spent weeks on crutches following her "brutal" hip surgery that left her with ulcers due to medicines and fevers.
How P!nk Worked on Her New Album "Trustfall"
Elsewhere in the interview, P!nk shared her thoughts about her ninth album and her excitement ahead of her planned tours.
When asked about how she put her songs together, she disclosed that she is overthinking all the time. With that, fans received mixed emotions through the album - worry, grief, longing, and anger.
P!nk's new album, which features 13 songs, serves as a follow-up to her 2021 album, "All I Know So Far: Setlist." She dropped it on Friday on RCA Records, and she has since tagged it as one of the best records she ever made.
"It was so easy to name the record," she said of her new album. "I feel like getting out of bed, and getting dressed, and dropping your kids off at school, and being in a relationship, and parenting, and participating in elections - it requires a lot of trust. And most of the time, we feel like we're falling backward, and we don't know where the ground is."
Meanwhile, fans will see more of her through her Summer Carnival 2023 tour. It will begin on July 24, with the singer visiting stadiums and venues across North America.
