XXXTentacion's murder trial has been in motion for a while already. In the latest turn of events, Drake's involvement in the high-profile trial has already been initially ruled out by the presiding judge.
But it seems like the prime suspect in killing XXXTentacion is fiercer than ever to put the rap mogul for a deposition.
XXXTentacion Murder Trial Update
AllHipHop reported last week that Drake was already relieved by the presiding judge of getting into a deposition for XXXTentacion, formally known as Jahseh Dwayne Ricardo Onfroy's murder trial.
Dedrick Williams, the XXXTentacion murder trial suspect, has his eyes set out on involving Drake in the issue, citing Onfroy's feud with the former back then.
In a now-deleted Instagram story, Onfroy posted that if anybody had killed him, it was Drake.
Since then, Williams, along with his lawyer Mauricio Padilla, has been hard-pressing Drake to become a suspect. But according to court documents obtained by AllHipHop, Williams has reportedly run out of money to suffice the additional length that the defense needs to support his defense.

Because of this, Williams has already applied to the Clerk of Court an "indigent status." The publication also noted that he was already asking for a private investigator to assist him in preparing a defense of his matter, interviewing and locating witnesses, performing background checks, locating important documents, and even researching issues surrounding the case.
AllHipHop obtained documents show that William's private investigator will just cost $40 per hour, with a maximum of $10,000 or an additional 250 hours for doing all of the abovementioned actions.
Drake in XXXTentacion Murder Trial
After the presiding judge rilled out that Drake did not need to be deposed, William's lawyer, Padilla, continued to file a motion asking the court to require the said deposition.
Padilla also wants Drake to be held in contempt of court should he miss the said subpoena. XXXTentacion murder trial judge is expected to issue a ruling next week if Drake really needs to be deposed or not.
Drake's lawyer, Bradford Cohen, argued to the court last week that Drake's involvement in the XXXTentacion murder trial lacks foundation.
He also asserted that the subpoena that the other camp was issuing was "procedurally defective" as the defense team had failed to include instructions on how the deposition had to be conducted when it was first arranged.
