Anthrax's Joey Belladonna expressed his disapproval toward lead singers who opt to lipsync during concerts.
Belladonna shared shocking tirades in his video message for Syncin' Stanley's YouTube channel after he was asked regarding some rock artists who rely on pre-recorded tracks. The Anthrax frontman took his time to condemn artists who choose lipsync vocals, telling them they should never think of wanting to be there if they could not do it.
"That's the fun part about being a musician, is to try to achieve that expectation of what you've been really working hard to get in the first place, is to be a great, great band and a great musician and just fight on each night to do a great job," he went on.
Belladonna highlighted how unfair it is to see two people competing on something, but the other person does not do it the way it should be done.
The "Bring the Noise" rocker said it is tough for him to judge. But he explained how fulfilling it would be to know that the bands' fans love were all real and genuine.
Rock Artists Relying on Pre-Recorded Tracks?
Before Belladonna spoke up about the "issue," several rockers had already voiced out their different concerns regarding pre-recorded tracks.
In 2020, Zach Myers noted that 90 percent of rock artists use pre-recorded tracks during live performances. He then said that choosing whatever the band wants is all personal preference.

Meanwhile, former Skid Row singer, Sebastian Bach, said he is one of the last people who opt not to use pre-recorded tracks during their live shows.
"I still don't. When I have opening bands, and they're using tapes, and then I come out and I don't use tapes," he said. "It's becoming very rare to come to see a good band that's actually a real band - that's not miming or doing silly moves while a tape is running. It just becomes more rare as the years go on."
Iron Maiden's Adrian Smith expressed his disapproval toward the bands relying on pre-recorded tracks, saying that it is not a good thing as bands are supposed to play live during live shows.
