Wiz Khalifa's 'Blacc Hollywood' Slated To Sell Less Than 100,000 Copies Its First Week

The projections for Wiz Khalifa's recent release Blacc Hollywood are in.

According to HipHopDX, Wiz's third studio album is slated to sell less than 100,000 copies its first week.

Blacc Hollywood, which released Tuesday (Aug. 19), is expected to sell between 70,000 and 80,000 copies its first week in stores, as reported by HitsDailyDouble.

If the album hits its projected mark, the Taylor Gang rapper is expected to compete for the #1 album in the country with the Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Mix, Vol.1.

The soundtrack was the #1 album in the country this week with 92,585 units sold, including sales for the week ending August 18.

Iggy Azalea's New Classic was this week's best-selling hip-hop album with 13,135 units sold. As HipHopDX notes, Wiz Khalifa's best-selling album is 2011's Rolling Papers, which has been certified gold by the RIAA.

Prior to the release of Blacc Hollywood, Wiz promoted the album as his best body of work saying, "I feel like Blacc Hollywood is my best, most solid effort, because I'm happy with everything that's going into it and how I project it to come out even before the CD even comes out. I'm most confident in this one, [more] than I've ever been in any of my albums."

The album has received lukewarm reviews with Brandon Soderberg calling the album a half-ass effort.

Mostly though, this album is too-crisp cloud rap ("Promises," "House On the Hills") and diet, caffeine-free trap that gets the signifiers right but has no actual snarl ("We Dem Boyz," "Kk," "Raw"). Blacc Hollywood could be worse or lazier or just plain longer, but Wiz is a master of half-assed hedging.
