Fans were surprised that Kodak Black performed at the Rolling Loud Festival over the weekend.

After all, he was sentenced to 30 days in rehab by a Florida judge after police said he breached his bail terms after testing positive for Fentanyl.

The "Wake Up in the Sky" rapper was wanted by officers in the state around a week ago after failing a drug test.

In court documents obtained by People, a court issued an arrest warrant in his name after he failed to appear for a planned drug test in early February. Then, a few days later, he submitted a Fentanyl-positive sample.

The warrant was issued by County Judge Barbara Duffy, who stated that the 25-year-old rapper had breached the terms of his pre-trial release on an oxycodone trafficking charge from July 2022. He entered a not guilty plea to the case.

Over the weekend, though, Kodak Black lit up the stage at the Rolling Loud Festival in California. It seems like he put forth a lot of effort behind the scenes to stay sober in the days leading up to his performance.

The rapper's appearance at the three-day festival was his final hoorah before entering in-patient treatment next week.

Kodak Black was in Los Angeles with a team of individuals, according to his attorney, Bradford Cohen, to ensure he was free of any adverse influences, who spoke to TMZ.

According to an insider, the crew included a doctor to monitor his dietary habits, and another individual was assigned to be at his side at all times to ensure the rapper kept on "the straight and narrow."

The lawyer also stated that Kodak Black does not normally partake in the after-party scene, so he had one less thing to worry about while in California.

This wasn't the first time Kodak Black had faced several run-ins with the law throughout his career, some of them included:

2015: Kodak Black was charged with robbery, battery, false imprisonment of a child, and possession of marijuana. He was placed on probation for five years.

2016: He was arrested again on charges of possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, possession of marijuana, and fleeing from officers. He was sentenced to 364 days in jail.

2017: Kodak Black was arrested on charges of grand theft of a firearm, possession of marijuana, and child neglect. He was released on bail but was later arrested on probation violation charges.

2019: Kodak Black was arrested on weapons charges at the Rolling Loud festival in Miami.

2020: He was arrested twice on drug and weapons charges and later on first-degree attempted murder charges.

It's also worth noting that Kodak Black's legal troubles and controversial comments have often overshadowed his music career. He has received several recognitions throughout his career, including:

BET Hip Hop Awards: In 2017, Kodak Black won the award for Best New Hip Hop Artist.

MTV Video Music Awards: In 2017, he was nominated for the Best New Artist award.

Billboard Music Awards: In 2018, Kodak Black was nominated for the Top New Artist award.
