Four out of the five Best Original song nominees have already confirmed their attendance and performance at the actual ceremony on Mar. 12, 2023.

As of this writing, it is not yet known what song Kravitz will be singing for the actual tribute performance.

Kravitz was the recipient of four consecutive Grammy Awards in the Best Male Rock Vocal Performance category from 1998 to 2001. He is also a revered figure in film as he has appeared in the three movies of the mammoth franchise that is "The Hunger Games," among many other films.

Last year at the 2022 Oscars In Memoriam Segment, the Academy honored industry figures who have left the world in the past year - these include Sidney Poitier, Ivan Reitman, Stephen Sondheim, and Betty White, among many others.

Jamie Lee Curtis, Bill Murray, Tyler Perry, and Jill Scott gave moving speeches to honor the late icons, while The Samples Choir sang a medley of songs to remember their deaths.

Kravitz follows a long line of In Memoriam segment presenters and performers. Barbra Streisand, Bette Midler, Jennifer Hudson, Dave Grohl, Sara Bareilles, Eddie Vedder, The Los Angeles Philharmonic, Billie Eilish, and Finneas, among other artists.

2023 Oscars Best Original Song Performers

Meanwhile, only four out of the five nominees for Best Original Song have been confirmed to perform at the 2023 Oscars.

Following her iconic performance at the Super Bowl Halftime Show earlier this year, Rihanna's second live comeback performance in six years will take place at the Oscars as she will be performing "Lift Me Up," one of the songs that got "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" nominated.

"Naatu Naatu," the song from the Indian movie "RRR," was also nominated and will be making its award-season live debut on the show. Diane Warren and Sofia Carson will also be having their "Applause" performance on the show too.

Best Supporting Actress nominee Stephanie Hsu will be filling in for Mitski as she performs "This Is A Life" from "Everything Everywhere All At Once" with David Byrne and Son Lux.

The 2023 Oscars will take place on Mar. 12, 2023, and will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel.
