2023 is proving itself to be Rihanna's year.
Last month, the "Work" singer marked her return to the music scene with her Super Bowl halftime show performance, which left fans stunned and awestruck.
Next week, she is going to take everybody's breath away once again as she is set to perform at the 2023 Oscar Awards.
According to reports, Rihanna was nominated for an Oscar for her recently released song "Lift Me Up," which comes from "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever."
The song will be performed at the 95th Academy Awards ceremony, which comes exactly a month after her Super Bowl halftime show.
No one seems to be more excited for her next live performance than the 35-year-old singer herself.
Rihanna took to Instagram to share pictures of her son watching the "Life Me Up" music video, looking quite upset.
"My son when he found out his sibling is going to the Oscars, and not him," she wrote along with the telling hashtags, "#oscarnominee #oscarperformancein1week."
The singer is expecting her second child with A$AP Rocky; she famously revealed her baby bump during her Super Bowl halftime show performance.
This is one of the very few times Rihanna has shown the world her son's face; in fact, she has kept much information about him private, like his name.
"It's everything," Rihanna gushed about motherhood. "You really don't remember life before, that's the craziest thing ever."
She also once opened up about keeping her son's privacy: "I just went straight into protective mode,
"Like there wasn't even time for rage. [Rocky and I] drove up to the trailer area and we sat in the car chatting and working out how we move forward.
As parents it just feels so icky, like a violation. ... As we were speaking, we knew they were making calls and deals."

'Lift Me Up'
"Lift Me Up" is Rihanna's highly anticipated and regarded comeback; the song has not only been nominated for the Academy Award, but it also received nods from the Golden Globes and Critics Choice Awards.
It was released several years after she dropped her 2016 studio album, "Anti"; and it was written by Tems and Ryan Coogler with music from Tems, Rihanna, Ryan Coogler, and Ludwig Goransson, reports say.
Aside from the great honor the song has received, it also reportedly serves as a tribute to Chadwick Boseman, who famously portrayed the Marvel character Black Panther.
He died of colon cancer in August 2020 at the age of 43.
