Ed Sheeran takes music very seriously.
Not only did the "Bad Habits" singer reveal in an interview with Rolling Stone that his mental health took a massive toll after losing his best friends, but it also put his life and music into perspective.
Sheeran announced that he is currently working on his posthumous album, "I want to slowly make this album that is quote-unquote 'perfect' for the rest of my life."
Apparently, the "Shape of You" singer has been building up this album for quite some time now, "adding songs here and there."
"[I] just have it in my will that after I die, it comes out," he added.
The Covid lockdown probably also gave him all the time in the world to just sit back and return to making music, because not only has he started working on his posthumous album, he has a couple more albums lined up.
"I've got loads and loads and loads of s**t," the singer revealed.
So Fans should probably expect that Sheeran's albums will roll in quickly in the next couple of years-in fact, there's a definitive number of albums that are expected to come after "-" (pronounced Subtract).
Sheeran has five other albums lined up for release.
Subtract
While not a lot is known about Sheeran's forthcoming albums, are relatively more details about "-" right now, especially since it is slated for a May 5 release.
For one, the 32-year-old singer enlisted the help of The National's Aaron Dessner, a frequent collaborator of their mutual friend Taylor Swift, to work on "-".
"It was very quickly seen that we were making two different things," Sheeran said. "I have no goals for the record. I just want to put it out."
