Tom Jones and Elvis Presley met several times before the King of Rock and Roll's death, and one of those encounters featured the two singers "naked."
Jones spoke about his "bromance" with Presley during his appearance on "The Graham Norton Show." The "Delilah" hitmaker opened up about his first meeting with the late singer and their interactions thereafter.
Tom Jones, Elvis Presley's First Meeting
He revealed that their first meeting happened in 1965 at the Paramount Studios. Presley reportedly initiated it and asked Jones to visit the studio through his representatives.
According to Jones, it was an unbelievable moment to see him in person since he was still starting in the music industry at that time. They continuously met from there; even the "Can't Help Falling in Love" hitmaker often attended his concerts.
But the "strange" and "awkward" meeting happened when Jones had to take a shower after his Caesars' performance.
While taking a bath, he reportedly heard Presley singing and only saw him when he got the soap out of his eyes.
"I got out of the shower and I say he'd been to the toilet in my bathroom while I was in the shower," he said. "He was wearing a North Beach leather outfit - a lot of us used to - and they weren't lined, they were just natural leather. So he was standing there, cleaning up and looking in the mirror. So I'm naked, and he's half naked."
Did Tom Jones Date Elvis Presley's Ex-Wife Priscilla Presley?
Aside from his close friendship with Presley, Jones also became close to the singer's then-wife, Priscilla Presley.
In an interview with People, the "Green Green Grass of Home" hitmaker opened up about the dating rumors that bombarded him after his wife of 59 years, Linda, died of lung cancer in 2016.
From that year onward, rumors that he and Priscilla were dating emerged. However, Jones clarified that they are only friends. He revealed that, while they are not seeing each other, they usually go out for dinner.
According to Jones, he met Priscilla in the 1960s and they have been friends ever since. Despite their decades-long relationship, he said there is nothing romantic between them.
Although he could date as much as he could after losing Linda, he said he could not do so because "there's no history with anybody else."
Jones married Linda in 1957 while she was eight months pregnant with their son, Mark.
