There will be three new tracks by Tamera Mowry-Housley - soon.
The 44-year-old actress rose to fame alongside her twin sister Tia in the 1990s Nickelodeon sitcom "Sister, Sister," and she occasionally sang on the show.
According to Entertainment Tonight, she will return to music when she records "Dream That Dream," "Bring It Back," and "So Right" for the upcoming Hallmark movie "Dream Moms," in which she plays a former backup singer with dreams of making it big on Broadway.
Senior VP of Development at Hallmark Media Elizabeth Yost said of the film, "On Mother's Day weekend, we are excited to bring our viewers a movie celebrating moms and the overwhelmingly important role they play in their families' lives." The film will premiere in the United States on May 14, Mother's Day.
The magic that can happen when you have the guts and the support to pursue your passions is something we hope will inspire others. The "Twitches" star recently confessed that she was yearning to sing and had ambitions of producing a holiday record, but said that time restraints were the major barrier.
In 2021, she competed on the US edition of 'The Masked Singer' as Seashell. At the time, she told OprahDaily: "This is the thing. I want to sing so badly. I want to do like a Christmas album, an inspirational album. I grew up listening to gospel. My mom, at one point that was the only thing you could listen to. It's just the time. It's funny because the moment I'm always like 'I'm going to take a break, I don't want to do nothing for a year...' And then...now I'm in Canada. So my thing is I've got to just find the time. That's not something that I want to just throw out. I want it to be my baby. I want it to be the only thing that I'm focusing on, and I know that if it's in the cards for me to do it, I know God will present the opportunity. "

Mowry-Housley is joined by Chelsea Hobbs, Roger Cross, and Andrew J. Hampton in the cast. Danielle (Mowry-Housley), a former off-Broadway performer and backing vocalist, and Claire (Hobbs), a former dancer with Broadway aspirations, are the subjects of Dream Moms. Years and numerous unsuccessful auditions later, Danielle is now married to Mark (Cross), a prominent lawyer, and has a ballerina daughter who is positioned for the New York City ballet. Claire is a single mother raising two sons in the Garment District while working as a bookkeeper.
Now absorbed by parenting, they have no time for themselves and have put their own ambitions on hold. Claire and RJ are introduced by Danielle's brother RJ (Hampton) after she begins taking classes at his dancing studio. Impressed by Claire's dance technique, he desires to have the women compete in a nationally broadcast talent show.
As they begin rehearsing for the performance, Danielle and Claire begin to recapture their prior sense of self and passion as performers. When competing priorities with their families drive them to reconsider, the couple realizes that they must show up for themselves and serve as an example of never giving up on your dreams.
Danielle and Claire discover, with the assistance of their families, that it is never too late to become what or who you want to be as they compete in a talent contest. The film also inaugurates Hallmark's Make Her Mark program for women directors, which is led by Hallmark actress Ashley Williams.
The initiative provides a prospective female filmmaker with the opportunity to shadow a Hallmark production throughout the full process. The director of Dream Moms, Jessica Harmon, was shadowed by Make Her Mark's first participant, Crystal Lowe, who would eventually direct her own Hallmark film.
