Lady Gaga and BLACKPINK collaborated on the song "Sour Candy" from the pop star's hit album "Chromatica" in 2020 and many fans are still waiting for the two music acts to perform the track together.
Although both Mother Monster and the international KPop group have sang the track on separate occassions— the Oscar Award-winning singer on her stadium tour while the girl group on their virtual concert—they haven't performed the song in one stage.
More recently, it appears that BLACKPINK and Gaga still have a chance to surprise fans through a performance, however, it will not be soon as reports of them getting together at the White House in April will not be possible anymore; what happened?
Lady Gaga, BLACKPINK Invited to Perform at The White House
According to Yahoo! News, the South Korean pop stars and the "House of Gucci" actress were invited by US First Lady Jil Biden at the state dinner. This report was confirmed by the group's management, YG Entertainment.
However TV Chosun reported that President Yoon was not notified about the invitation despite other government officials knowing the information.
Aside from the Lady Gaga and BLACKPINK performance, there were other omitted reports about the invitation, which was sent in March. The South Korean president was allegedly angered about the matter.
Recently, National Security Advisor Kim Sung-Han resigned from his position as he was reportedly the one who did not relay the information to the country's head.
"I hope that the controversy I have caused will no longer be a burden on diplomacy and state administration," the Advisor said.
Lady Gaga 'Joker: Folie à Deux'
Although Lady Gaga's team has not confirmed whether they received an invitation or not, it appears that the musician is busy filming her upcoming movie, "Joker: Folie à Deux."
In early reports, the "Rain On Me" hitmaker, who will star opposite Joaquin Phoenix, will portray the role of Harley Quinn in the film.
Earlier this week, a viral video of the pop star made rounds online after she kissed a bystander who told her "you are going to hell!"
Many users immediately called out the singer for her actions as they deem it "inappropriate," but they didn't realize that the "1000 Doves" songstress only did it for a scene as there were cameras around.
