Lewis Capaldi is one of the most well-loved musicians and singers all over the world. Capturing fans from various age groups with his charming wit and inspiring songs, the young man has, time and time again proved that he is someone you would want to hear over and over again.

However, the possibility of hearing him again and again and watching him perform many more times could be a thing of the past as he revealed that he might be forced to quit music eventually.

Lewis Capaldi Tourette Syndrome

In the past, Lewis Capaldi had been very vocal about his health condition, specifically his diagnosis of Tourette's Syndrome. Last September 2022, the singer told his 6.2 million Instagram followers about his condition. (via NME)

"I wanted to speak about it because I didn't want people to think I was taking cocaine or something," he said at the time, alluding to the videos circulating online that had many of his fans speculating about his condition while he was experiencing tics during a performance.

According to Capaldi, his shoulders twitch when he is happy, nervous, stressed, or even a tad excited. Saying that it is something that he is living with, much like the more than 300,000 people in the United Kingdom who has been diagnosed with it - "it's not as bad as it looks."

It wasn't until it was revealed to Capaldi that he has Tourette's that he realized he was having tics dating back to old 2018 interviews. Other celebrities who have Tourette's are Billie Eilish, David Beckham, and even Wolfgang Mozart.

Lewis Capaldi Quitting Music

In a recent interview with The Times, it seems like the idea of Lewis Capaldi quitting music eventually could be a grim possibility because of his Tourette's Syndrome.

Apparently, Capaldi explains that it is "only making music" that contributes to the worsening of his condition; but if he ditches this one out - he could be fine for months.

"Right now, the trade-off is worth it, but if it gets to a point where I'm doing irreparable damage to myself, I'll quit," he furthered. "I hate hyperbole, but it is a very real possibility that I will have to pack music in."

Although he admitted that he was "on top" of trying to stay on top of his health condition, the idea of Lewis Capaldi quitting music would become more apparent if the condition was left untreated.

According to The Mayo Clinic, Tourette Syndrome has no cure. The only treatment available is controlling one's tics as it interferes with everyday activities and functioning.
