Fans are still shocked after what happened at the Apollo Theater during Morbid Angel's concert. More recently, the band finally broke their silence and announced that they would cancel an upcoming show in honor of the victims as well as the man who died at the venue.
Taking to their official Instagram account, the metal band shared a statement, sending their deepest condolences to the families of individuals who passed away at the venue after the roof collapsed due to heavy winds brought by a tornado.
One man named Fred Livingston Jr. was identified as the one who died at the tragic event "We lost a brother in Metal last night, and many were hurt and injured in this tragedy," they wrote.
Morbid Angel also took the opportunity to express their gratitude to those who were present like fans, venue staff, and crew that assisted concertgoers out of the venue and run for safety.
They also thanked first responders who helped throughout the tragedy.

Later in the post, the metal group noted they continue to remember the victims, especially those who were injured and hospitalized, as well as families who were affected in the surrounding area.
The band also confirmed that their scheduled show in Joliet, Illinois will not push through as a result of what happened to their Apollo Theater concert. (via Loudwire)

Morbid Angel shared the rescheduled date for their Joliet show, saying they will perform on Wednesday, April 5th, instead of their initial announcement of April 1.
Morbid Angel Pays Tribute to Fred Livingston Jr.
In a follow-up post, the group said they wanted to personally send their deepest condolences to the friends and families of Fred Livingston Jr., the man who died during the tragedy.
They also shared a statement from his niece, Brittany. She confirmed that her uncle was identified as the "person who didn't make it."
"Our family is beyond devastated. We can't help comprehend how this could happen to us," she wrote.
For those who wanted to remember Livingston Jr., Britanny said there will be a candlelight vigil at the Apollo Theater to remember his life.
According to the late fan's sister who issued a statement to ABC7 Chicago, Fred Livingston Jr. was also a car enthusiast, adding, "Fred had a big heart and cared for others deeply. Please keep all of Fred's family and friends in your thoughts. Please respect our privacy."
