The Recording Academy 'Right Here, Right Now'

The publication reports that the Recording Academy's 'Right Here, Right Now' music initiative's main goal is fighting climate change.

In the past, several artists, including Coldplay, Justin Bieber, and Shawn Mendes, have included initiatives and eco-guidelines in their respective concerts - a move that has since been lauded by environmentalists and environmental groups.

For the "Right Here, Right Now" campaign, a Mini Global Climate Concert Series will be launched. This will put well-loved artists, instituted by The Recording Academy, to perform at concert venues while also raising important climate issues such as food insecurity, clean water, tornadoes, floods, droughts, fires, tsunamis, ocean acidity, deforestation, among many other topics.

Among the artists that have expressed support for the cause were Annie Lennox, Cher, Celine Dion, LL Cool J, Cyndi Lauper, Pitbull, Kesha, Camilla Cabello, Quincy Jones, Jack Black, and even Leonardo DiCaprio, among many others.

Process for the campaign will be funneled to the United Nations Human Rights initiatives and MusiCares.

"We are honored to be working with several United Nations-supported global music initiatives to bring together artists and create unique music events to promote social justice around the world," The Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. said in a statement.
