According to the social media posts, Trimble passed away Tuesday following a health-related issue. The keyboardist had reportedly been undergoing cancer treatment for cancer before she developed a complication the day before she died.

"We were not expecting this. She was a great friend and a gifted musician and choreographer, but it was being a partner to David and a mother to Nate and Rebecca that gave her the greatest joy," the statement continued. "We are devastated beyond words to lose our graceful sister."

The social media posts did not share details of Trimble's funeral or celebration of life. Meanwhile, the band's fans showered the posts with heartfelt messages to deliver their condolences to Luscious Jackson members and Trimble's bereaved family.

Trimble is survived by her husband, David, and their two children - Nathaniel and Rebecca.

Luscious Jackson honored its late member, although she refused to join the band's reunions in the past years. She remained close with her former bandmates but shifted her focus completely to her family.

Trimble lived with her loved ones in New Hampshire, where she worked at the Capitol Center for the Arts as a booker, until her death.

Remembering Vivian Trimble

Trimble famously co-founded Luscious Jackson in 1991, along with Glaser and Cuniff. They soon released their debut EP, "In Search of Manny," after former Beastie Boys drummer Kate Schellenbach joined the band.

In the years thereafter, Luscious Jackson recorded albums for the Grand Royal Label, including "Fever In Fever." The album contained its biggest single of all time, "Naked Eye," after the track entered the Billboard Hot 100 chart and Alternative Airplay list.

Luscious Jackson was about to complete its third album, "Electric Honey," in 1998 when Trimble decided to exit the group. This led her to create Dusty Trails with The Breeders' Josephine Wiggs and release their self-titled album in 2000.

After Trimble's exit from Luscious Jackson, the band released one more album before ultimately splitting. The three remaining members reunited to record "Magic Hour" and hold tours several times in the years thereafter.
