Daniel Caesar is finally acknowledging his previous controversial comment as he issued an apology for the Black community; what did he do?

It all started in 2019 when he took to his Instagram Live to defend his pal YesJulz, who came under fire after she was involved in a racial controversy at the time.

The famed talent manager and entrepreneur previously expressed wanting to wear a t-shirt with the phrase "N***** lie a lot" as a joke and the singer attempted to defend her by saying the Black community was being hard on her.

In early reports, the musician said Black people are "being mean" to his friend, explaining that the community can't take a joke and accused them of being sensitive.

More recently, the musician spoke to an Apple Music interview to promote his new album "Never Enough." Throughout the conversation, the previous issue was brought up and he was asked to speak about the topic.

Recalling his previous actions, Caesar finally acknowledged that what he did was wrong and he "completely understand the response."

"After taking time to get over myself and to really honestly look at myself and everything that was happening, I was wrong. I was wrong, and I'm sorry about that," he said. (via Uproxx)

He further explained that people can do and say whatever they want and for every action they do, there will be "an equal and opposite reaction."

"What happened, happened because I deserved it, because I knocked the domino over and set a course in motion," he added.

Not The First Time Daniel Caesar Apologies For Defending YesJulz

Although the singer previously expressed his apology for his actions, fans believed his recent interview was his genuine apology as he initially said he didn't like saying sorry because he feels like he's been doing it for so long.

"I apologize for how I expressed my idea. I believe in what I said... I can admit when I'm wrong," he initially said on Instagram Live.

In other updates, Daniel Caesar recently dropped his new album "NEVER ENOUGH," which is his first record in over four years. His last album, "CASE STUDY 01," was released in 2019.

"NEVER ENOUGH" is now available for streaming on major music platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music.
