Paramore is currently on tour and frontwoman Hayley Williams made a shocking move during one of their concerts as she called out Ticketmaster for the company to do better in treating fans when it comes to tickets.
According to Billboard, the musician and her bandmates recently began embarking on their United Kingdom/Ireland series of shows in Dublin last week.
During one moment, the singer took her time and expressed her gratitude to those who attended, saying, "I wanna say one more time how special it is that you've all made it tonight."
She later took a dig at the ticket company, adding, We don't take it lightly, we know, honestly, especially now, it's a huge sacrifice to come to a show because Ticketmaster needs to get their s*** together." (via NME)
Williams, who was one of the first artists who opened for Taylor Swift's "The Eras Tour," further discussed that Paramore put a lot of pressure on themselves because they thought fans are spending money that they don't have just to see the group so "we better give them something that's worth that."
She concluded her statement by telling fans how much she loves them.
Ticketmaster's Issues Over the Past Few Months
Ticketmaster has been a center of controversy over the past few months and many artists have an issue with the company, not just Paramore.
From what fans could remember, the ticket-selling platform faced scrutiny over Taylor Swift's "The Eras" tour after millions of fans flocked to their website to secure passes, but most of them were not able to do so after the page crashed.
The "Hits Different" songstress also called out the company, saying it's hard for her to trust an "outside entity with these relationships and loyalties."
She also added that it's excruciating for her to watch mistakes "happen with no recorse." Her message to fans who weren't able to get tickets is she's hoping to "provide more" opportunities in the future that would let her and other Swifties sing her songs. (via The Verge)
