The alleged Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn breakup rocked Swifties to the core. The heartbreaking news shocked everyone as it was Swift's longest relationship to date - six years!
Nothing is confirmed yet as neither of the two has confirmed nor denied the circulating rumors. However, this did not stop Swifties from trolling Emma Laird's Instagram account when she posted dump photos with Alwyn on them.
Who is Emma Laird?
Emma Laird is a 24-year-old Scottish actress who has played several roles in short independent films and the Paramount+ series "Mayor of Kingstown" along with Jeremy Renner.
She has been hailed as one of the burgeoning British actresses to watch out for by Variety, along with "Bridgerton" star Simone Ashley and "House of the Dragon" actress Fabian Frankel.
In 2018, she also played roles in short films "From Life," and "In Conversation with a Goddess."
She also joins an ensemble cast in "The Crowded Room" alongside Tom Holland, Amanda Seyfried, Emmy Rossum, Will Chase, and Sasha Lane, among many others, on the Apple TV+ series. In 2023, she joined Oscar-winning actress Michelle Yeoh in another ensemble cast film "A Haunting in Venice" with Kenneth Branagh, Tina Fey, Jamie Dorman, and Camille Cottin.
Aside from the abovementioned, Laird is starring alongside Taylor Swift's ex beau Joe Alwyn on "The Brutalist" with Adrien Brody, Felicity Jones, and Guy Pearce.
Emma Laird, Joe Alwyn Photos
On Instagram, Laird posted a carousel of photos of moments she had captured last March 2023.
Photos of her and Brody were included on set, along with a candid cute photo of Alwyn on a scooter.
While the photos provide no context or whatsoever explanation, some fans thought that this could signify a lot more than what it seems.
Some fans took to lengths to overthink the said post, with some even attacking the actress, seemingly alleging her as the third party for the unconfirmed breakup.
"We know you've been liking posts about taylor and joe's breakup," someone commented.
"There's no way she didn't know what she was doing," another posted.
However, not all Swifties thought the same, and even defended Laird, apologizing on some of the fans' behavior on behalf.
"As a swiftie... I do NOT claim the mean swifties in these comments," someone said.
"Y'all need to turn this energy into crafts and make some friendship bracelets. The Swiftie fandom is not built on hate and bullying. Leave this poor girl alone," another shared.
Billboard quoted the said comments before Laird disabled the comments on her Instagram post.
