Before Anitta left Warner Music Group, she had a long and controversial scuffle with her music label, which had handled her for 11 years. From publicly calling out the management to saying that she is willing to auction her organs off to pay her way out - it was a telling statement of how badly she was treated.
Weeks after her departure, she has now signed to a new label - Republic Records!
Anitta Inks New Deal With Republic Records
Home to talents like Nicki Minaj, Taylor Swift, and The Weeknd, Anitta enters her new home with Republic Records.
Variety and Billboard confirmed the new partnership, but the label refused to issue a comment considering the recent hot water that the Brazilian singer has gotten into with Warner.
Despite this, Anitta might be on her path to even bigger success as she makes her way to the creation of her new album.
Fans of Anitta are in agreement that she has been neglected by her former music label, Warner, which despite making strides in her music on her own, her influence and impact were undervalued, underutilized, and mismanaged by the label.
Anitta Leaves Warner Music
In a joint statement weeks ago, Anitta and Warner revealed that they would be parting ways after eleven years of a "successful" partnership. The singer turned off the comments on her post but amassed a significant amount of reactions from her fans.
On many occasions, she has called out the company for getting the respect she deserved as their artist. In a public tweet, she left the company a scathing message detailing how she would auction her organs off just to pay her way out of the deal she had signed.
"When you're young and still don't know a lot, you need to pay close attention to the things you sign... if you don't, you could spend a lifetime paying for the mistake," she said in a statement.
Most notably, Warner doubted Anitta that she would be successful in "Envolver" if it did not have a collaboration with an artist. Eventually, she proved them wrong. She self-directed the racy music video and even won the MTV VIdeo Music Awards' Best Latin Video, making her the first Latina to win the award.
Although her album "Versions of Me" was a hit in South America, the album performed poorly in the United States.
