Another shocking development took place in Young Thug's RICO YSL Trial. The same lawyers who were threatened to be put in jail if they failed to submit a requested document by the judge have been jailed but for another reason!
Anastassios Manettas, one of Young Thug's co-defendant's lawyers, was arrested.
Young Thug RICO YSL Lawyer Arrested
According to a Rolling Stone report, one of the lawyers who are representing Young Thug's co-defendants was put into jail.
Manettas was said to have been carrying prescription medicine when officers escorted him at the security checkpoint. During the height of the arrest, his co-lawyer, Chadha Jimenez, told Manettas to throw the phone to him so that it wouldn't be searched in jail. However, Manettas missed and hit a deputy captain.
This led to the addition of a simple battery of a police officer charge, along with the possession of pills not in the original container, and disrupting court proceedings.
Per Fulton County Sheriff Pat Labat, they have increased security protocol following the incident. "We will continue this moving forward. Anything coming into this courtroom will be checked."
Jimenez, however, had strong emotions about what happened. In an expletive-full statement to the publication, the lawyer had this to say about the arrest of his co-counsel:
"They're not motherf--ing doctors. They didn't have a warrant. They don't have a right to know about his motherf----ing conditions."
Manettas was representing Miles Farley, an associate who was involved in the grand jury indictment of 28 YSL Records members. Supposedly, Farley was to take a deal like Gunna and other freed associates, but he refused to take the deal.
Meanwhile, Manettas had been in hot water with Judge Ural Glanville since last week.
Young Thug Lawyers Will Be Jailed If They Won't Comply
Law & Crime Network reported that Manettas and Eric Johnson were threatened by Judge Glanville that if they did not submit their 17-page scholarly essay about "The Importance of Professionalism in the Legal Field and Treating One's Opponents with Civility," they would be jailed for a month for contempt of court.
Reportedly, Manettas was ordered to buy all the lawyers in the case some lunch, but he failed to do so. He was fined $250 for refusing to do so.
The paper is due on Apr. 28, 2023. It should contain ten primary and ten secondary sources and has to be published in a legal review.
