Ever since he was put behind bars in May 2022, Young Thug has not left Fulton County Jail because he was continuously denied bond release while awaiting trial. In under a year, the Grammy-winning rapper has appealed for bond release three times already, and weeks before a year clock in, Thugger is making another plea to the judge.
Young Thug has been accused of conspiring to violate the RICO act in Atlanta, Georgia, among many other felonies linked to the alleged YSL gang he operates under the moniker of his own label, Young Slime Life Records.
He, along with 27 other indicted associates from the label, has been arrested. However, a slew of his former team has accepted a plea deal in exchange for a commuted sentence. Young Thug has not been offered one.
Now, he is undergoing a long and grueling jury trial which has been filled with drama and controversy in the past few weeks.

Young Thug Bond Release Plea
According to AllHipHop, Young Thug has made his fourth plea to Judge Ural Glanville, the presiding judge of his case, to be released via a bond.
Based on the exclusively obtained document by the outlet, Young Thug, formally known as Jeffrey Lamar Williams, has already put forth "compelling" evidence that permits a bond to be set already.
"This Honorable Court denied bond based upon proffers made by the prosecution, mostly repeating allegations contained in the Indictment," Thugger's lawyer Brian Steel said in the filing.
Young Thug's legal counsel is confident that Williams will return to court to conclude the trial, especially the "extended" nature of it. Around a thousand jurors are needed to oversee the lengthy trial expected to last over six to nine months.
The jury selection had been strenuous as it was marred with debacles. Some of the selected jurors attempted to do deeds, including contacting lawyers and videotaping a proceeding, which led to the deployment of the trial.
Very recently, a lawyer of one of the co-defendants on trial was even sent to jail for allegedly attacking an officer of the court.
What is Young Thug Accused of?
- one count of conspiracy to violate Georgia's Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act,
- two counts of participating in a criminal street activity,
- three counts of violating the Georgia Controlled Substances Act, and;
- possession of a machine gun,
- possession of a firearm while committing a felony,
- one charge of street racing.
