Maren Morris is one of the many people who have loudly and enthusiastically celebrated Tucker Carlson's resignation from Fox News.

On Monday, April 25th, it was announced that Carlson and FOX were parting ways, and that his long-running show on the network, "Tucker Carlson Tonight," would be ending. Morris, whom Carlson once called a "lunatic country music person" on his show, didn't hold back in her Instagram Story response.

She posted "Happy Monday, MotherTucker" beside a screenshot of "Tucker Carlson Tonight" in which the bottom third read "LUNATIC COUNTRY MUSIC PERSON" over a portrait of Morris in a Monday Instagram post (via ET).

In a subsequent tweet, she included an image with the caption that only drag queens are permitted to wear Tuckers.

In her final post, she tweeted a screenshot of a "Succession" meme ridiculing Tucker's firing, with the caption, "Breaking: Tucker Carlson's replacement has already been announced, effective immediately," over a screenshot of Zoe Winters' failed audition to anchor a Waystar and RoyCo news show.

Morris' public fight with Carlson began in 2022, when country musician Jason Aldean's wife, influencer Brittany Aldean, uploaded a makeup-transformation Instagram Reel with the message, "I'd like to thank my parents for not changing my gender during my tomboy phase."

Days later, on August 26, 2022, Cassadee Pope, a country artist, tweeted about Aldean's caption that you'd assume celebrities with beauty brands would recognize the benefits of including LGBTQ+ individuals in their messaging. But here we are, listening to someone equate their "tomboy phase" to a transitioning person.

Morris then replied, "It's so easy to, like, not be a scumbag human? Sell your clip-ins and zip it, Insurrection Barbie," referring to Aldean's line of hair extensions.

Morris emphasized her stance in response to a now-deleted tweet, writing, "If it's confusing to you, it's because you think we're 'fighting' over politics. We're not. This isn't political. We're calling someone out for being transphobic and thinking it's hilarious. It isn't."

Morris elicited replies from conservative commentator Candace Owens shortly after, and Tucker Carlson dedicated an entire Fox News segment to the argument. As you might expect, the chyron for the episode referred to Morris as a "lunatic country music person."

Meanwhile, Aldean claimed her caption was "taken out of context" in a tweet promoting new items with the message, "Don't tread on our kids."

Morris quickly released her own merchandise: black crewneck T-shirts with her name followed by "lunatic country music person."

The phone number for Trans Lifeline, a support hotline and information center for transgender people, is listed below the text.

All revenues from the sale of this shirt went to Trans Lifeline and the GLAAD Transgender Media Program, which works to ensure fair and accurate depiction of trans lives and concerns in mainstream media.

Morris claimed that the garment raised $63,000 in two hours and $100,000 in under 24 hours. Maggie Rogers, Benito Skinner, and Pope all praised Morris's products on Instagram, writing, "I wish there was a slow clap emoji because YES."

Following Monday's high-profile cable news firings, which included Don Lemon's dismissal from CNN, former CNN anchor Brian Stelter explained to ET's Kevin Frazier why he believes the networks parted ways with their top talent and what he anticipates for the men in the future. Stelter believes Carlson's dismissal "is related to the Dominion lawsuit."

According to CBS News, Fox recently agreed to pay $787.5 million to resolve the defamation case brought against them by Dominion for claiming on-air that they helped rig the 2020 presidential election against former President Donald Trump.
