Frank Ocean's Coachella performance, pegged widely as his comeback performance, was lackluster and underwhelming. Although the reason was ultimately revealed why it was that way, many still seemed to be irked at how much they spent to see the singer sitting on a chair on a badly-lit stage.

Speculations that something might have been going wrong behind cameras arose when YouTube, the official Coachella streamer, announced that Frank Ocean's Coachella performance would not be broadcasted on the platform, which had many fans pissed.

Frank Ocean Coachella Performance Mishaps

In a Tweet, a YouTube announcement said that the first week of Frank Ocean's Coachella set would not be streamed, providing no reasons for such.

But resourceful fans found Instagram and TikTok Live videos on the internet, which Frank Ocean's fans enjoyed worldwide. Apart from that, various festivalgoers uploaded snippets of Frank Ocean's performance on social media.

Along with the videos came rants and complaints from fans, who could only see Frank Ocean on the LED screens as he could not be seen properly on the stage because it was poorly lit. Arriving late to his seat and sitting on a stool even exacerbated the complaints of many, who were expecting more than they had.

Shortly after the news online, reports said that an entire elaborate ice skating rink was scrapped, along with the Olympian skate figures and hockey players that rehearsed months before the Coachella performance.

It was also revealed that Frank Ocean had sustained an injury that prohibited him from pushing through with the planned performance, confirming the reports about the scrapped high-budget performance.

Days after, Frank Ocean, through his representatives, confirmed that he would no longer be performing on the second week of Coachella, with AEG, the festival organizer, picking Blink-182 as the replacement.

Frank Ocean Coachella Performance 'Removed & Destroyed'

An editor, Brian Kinnes, proved that not all superheroes wore capes when he edited over 100 fan clips and videos online to create one big video for Frank Ocean's Coachella performance on Weekend 1.

According to Variety, on that same day, he received a "cease and desist" order from AEG to remove and destroy all audio and video footage he had from the festival. Shortly after it was posted on YouTube, it was already taken down due to Copyright.

However, Kinnes revealed that he would not be scared to upload the video on the internet in a way that AEG would find it.

"I'm not concerned with any legal repercussions because I do not plan on making a single penny from it," he said. "I don't know if I should tell that to a reporter... but it deserves to exist online."

AEG has threatened Kinnes to pursue legal action if he does not take down what was demanded.
